Poetry Shows Matt and Sarah have featured at over 100 venues from the Nebraska Book Festival and the Western Literature Association's Annual Conference to the National Poetry Slam and colleges, high schools, and libraries. Shows consist of original poetry by one or both poets delivered in an engaging and entertaining style. If you or your audience thinks poetry isn't interesting, these two will change your minds in a hurry. Mason and McKinstry-Brown's reading selections, and those of the talented writers they engaged, were perfectly sculpted to suit a college crowd. Poetry Workshops Sarah and Matt have led writing and performing workshops as well as teacher in-services about teaching poetry to students, teaching workshops at several dozen universities and high schools. Matt teaches residencies through the Nebraska Arts Council's Artists in the Schools/Communities program. The creativity, talent, commitment and persons of the poets who performed for us made poetry cool to the kids and made it relevant to the MTV generation. Some students are now going to poetry slams outside of school. And for week-long residencies in Nebraska, Matt is on the Nebraska Arts Council's Artists in the Schools/Communities directory so you may be eligible for a grant to help cover fees. Matt and Sarah are also on the Arts Council's Touring Program listing.
